Hyphen Dash (UKR)

Hyphen Dash ist ein Trio aus Kiew, bestehend aus Myshko Birchenko (Schlagzeug), Yevhen Puhachov (Gitarre, Bass), Polina Maiboroda (Keyboard) und Dmytro Startsev (Keyboard, Effekte). Ihre Musik verbindet Hip-Hop, Jazz, Electronica und Prog-Rock und bietet eine frische Interpretation des instrumentalen Sounds. Mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Experimentierfreudigkeit wollen sie bestehende Musikgenres neu definieren. (Pressetext) Diese Band gewann den Ukrainischen Jazzpreis, der 2026 zum ersten Mal verliehen wurde (ich war ein Jurymitglied). Dafür bekommen sie einen Auftritt im Rahmen der General Assembly des European Jazznetworks (EJN) und ein paar Zusatzkonzerte, wie eben am 23. im P&B oder tags darauf in der Unterfahrt in München. Their performance stands out for its originality and bold approach to improvisation, revealing a young ensemble with significant international potential. The jury also acknowledges the band’s growing visibility on the European scene, marking them as an exciting act to watch in the coming years.”
